Volunteers and Supporters

Volunteers are crucial in helping the We Care Foundation achieve its mission of ensuring that medically underserved and uninsured residents of Indian River County have access to free specialty medical services provided by compassionate healthcare volunteers.

Physician Volunteers

Join our partners in health in Indian River County, who donate time each year to help the medically indigent through the We Care program. Specialty physicians and other health care professionals currently provide volunteer care based on their availability and the client demand within our clinic. The number of qualified We Care patients is growing, and your participation is essential to the program’s ability to provide quality care promptly.

Participating in We Care involves signing a short contract, making you an “Agent of the State of Florida,” which provides additional professional liability protection as the volunteer work is covered by the State of Florida’s Sovereign Immunity program. This applies whether you provide the volunteer service at your office, Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital, or the We Care Clinic.

Contact the We Care Program at (772) 794-7422 to begin.

Mardi Gras Event Committee

The Mardi Gras Celebration Super Krewe is a group of dynamic volunteers who are the masterminds behind all the fun at the annual Mardi Gras celebration, our biggest fundraiser. Committee members work together to build and implement the celebration from start to finish. Tasks are assigned based on what the volunteer would like to do. Committee members are responsible for developing the vision for the Mardi Gras celebration, securing sponsorships, decorating, day-of setup and cleanup, and more.
