We Care Clinic
The Grand Opening of our We Care Clinic was celebrated on December 4, 2015. Located in a wing of the Gifford Health Center, the clinic is staffed with a full-time Primary Care physician with a mission to improve continuity of care.
According to Dr. Dennis F. Saver, We Care Committee Chairman and President of the We Care Foundation of Indian River, “Our immediate goal is to make “We Care” stronger, more robust and more effective at providing needed care on a routine planned basis instead of an expensive crisis basis — improving patient health and saving taxpayer dollars in the long haul.”
In April 2015, the Foundation was honored to receive an Impact 100 grant of $100,000 for construction of the Clinic.
Proceeds from the Foundation’s annual Mardi Gras Celebration and private donations will fund any additional construction, supply and equipment expenses.
The “We Care” Clinic is staffed by a full-time Primary Care Physician, Services Coordinator, Social Worker and Eligibility Specialist. The salaries are funded by the IRC Hospital District. Administrative services for the Clinic are provided by the Indian River County Health Department. Your donation to The We Care Foundation of Indian River will fund on-going clinic supply costs and meet patient needs for non-physician services.
These important collaborative efforts combined with a new expanded clinic and program enhancements will effectively improve care, prevent medical conditions from becoming acute, decrease hospital and ER admissions and re-admissions and saves tax payer dollars.
